It was another busy day for CSOs in Abuja as they converged at the National secretariat of the Civil Society Action coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA) for one day training on proposal writing and Monitoring and evaluation.
The training which is aimed at strengthening the capacity of the CSOs for effective engagement with stakeholders in the delivery of education policies programs and projects in Nigeria, was facilitated by two seasoned and experience facilitators on monitoring& evaluation and proposal writing.
while giving the opening and welcome remarks, the FCT Zonal Coordinator of CSACEFA Mr. Abanka Musa stated that CSOs are faced with the challenge of low capacity in the discharge of their work, he said that very many organizations though with good intention and vision lack the necessary skills to write award winning proposal, monitor projects and develop tools for evaluation. He urged the participants to explore the opportunity presented to them for effectiveness in their work.
Participants were trained on how to write a good proposal, important of grant proposal, rules and challenges of putting up a good proposal, Performance indicators, Risks and assumptions and proposal packaging for acceptance by donors. They were also trained on effective M&E during project implementation, deciding which projects to monitor and indicator that will be use to track changes that need to be achieved.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, one of participant, Cecilia T. Pwol from Non-Governmental Association for Literacy Support Services (NOGALSS) appreciated CSACEFA for organizing the workshop and said it has really help improve her knowledge on proposal writing.
