CSACEFA States’ Monthly Meeting

One of the cardinal responsibilities of CSACEFA is engaging members in activities like meeting, campaign, advocacy etc. Recently, various states have been engaging in the conduct of monthly meetings, advocacies and community sensitization. The following state were able to conducted their meetings

FCT

Members in FCT held their monthly meeting on the 20th June 2017 at CAPP Office, Area 10.

Some of the issues addressed at the meeting is government inculcating the technical and vocational education in schools so that student can learn different skills. I was noted that there are hidden charges in schools, there was need to ensure it is abolish.

The Coalition member also discuss at the meeting literature books should be scrutinize before it can be allowed to be use in school. The need for government to build schools closer to the community to address the challenge of distance to school also discussed was the tenureship of the present executive which will roundup by March 2018 and the call for an election to be conducted by April 2018. 

OYO

On the 29th of June 2017 CSACEFA Oyo Chapter of CSACEFA conducted her monthly meeting at KDFYEC (Ibadan Civil Centre), Idi Ape, Ibadan. At the meeting discussions were centred on update on the implementation of the Civil Society Education Fund (CSEF), planning for the upcoming Ibadan Education Fair was considered and the need for CSACEFA to participate actively. The unutilized and Unaccessed UBEC Fund by Oyo State Government was also discussed and the necessity to conduct an advocacy visit to the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OSUBEB).  Members also agrees to source for members to join the coalition.

KADUNA

CSACEFA Kaduna held their monthly meeting on the 4th of July 2017 at ABANTU for Development to discuss on issues affecting the state and way forward for the coalition. At the meeting, members plan to engage with education stakeholders; State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in the state through advocacy and educational talks for student in Senior Secondary school.

 BAYELSA

The July Monthly Meeting of Bayelsa State team was held on the 6th of July 2017 at No 45, Ebi’s Mechanics road, Amarata.  At the meeting members plan to conduct an advocacy visit to Ministry of Education, National Union of Teachers (NUT), Special Advisor on Higher Education, Special Advisor on CSO and Bayelsa State Universal Basic Education Board (BSUBEB), The aim of the visit is to discuss on the Higher Education Law and also create awareness on Government Policy in rural community on education.
